BERKELEY - Fans can meet the 2012 Cal Football players and coaches during the team's annual Fan Appreciation Day on Saturday, Aug. 25 (12:30 - 2:30 p.m., PT). Due to the renovation of Memorial Stadium, this year's event will be held at Haas Pavilion and on Spieker Plaza located on Bancroft Way just east of Fulton Street in Berkeley.
"We are excited about this event because it's an opportunity for us to say thanks to our fans that support us so enthusiastically," head coach Jeff Tedford said. "We're pumped up to be back in Berkeley and can't wait to play in front of them again in Memorial Stadium. We're grateful for their support and the tremendous home field advantage they create."
The two-hour event will include an autograph session and the opportunity to take photos and interact with players and coaches. Tedford and preseason All-American Keenan Allen will be in the Haas Pavilion Club Room, while the team's seniors will occupy the main floor and the non-seniors and coaches on Spieker Plaza. All fans are asked to respect the "one autograph per player or coach" guideline.
New concession partner Cal Dining will be at the event and selling many of the new concession items that they will be serving at Memorial Stadium. Pepsi, ZipCar, Modify Watches and the Marines will also be on-hand interacting with fans.
Current season-ticket holders can pick up their 2012 Cal ticket lanyard at the event, with the first 500 season-ticket holders in attendance also receiving a Fan Appreciation Day poster pre-signed by coach Tedford and Keenan Allen, and free soup from San Francisco Soup Company.
Fans can also purchase season tickets from Gold Standard service representatives at the event. Official Cal merchandise, including the official 2012 Cal football gameday tee, will also be for sale.
