The countdown continues to the start of the 2012 season as Cal football is set to return to newly-renovated California Memorial Stadium on Sept. 1, and fans of all ages will want to be there when it happens. The 2012 home schedule features a number of promotional events, including a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Sept. 1 versus Nevada, Homecoming Weekend, stadium rededication ceremony, the annual Joe Roth Memorial Game on Oct. 6 against UCLA, the 30th anniversary of The Play and 115th Big Game against Stanford on Oct. 20, a unique Friday night contest with Washington on Nov. 2, and the highly-anticipated rematch with Rose Bowl champion Oregon on Nov. 10 on Senior Day to close out the home season.
