Cal Hosts Contra Costa Times Fan Appreciation Day on Saturday, Aug. 25

July 30, 2007

BERKELEY - With football season fast approaching, the California football team kicks off the season with Contra Costa Times Fan Appreciation Day on Saturday, August 25th at Memorial Stadium. The day will include a chance for fans to interact with players and coaches from the Cal football team. The Golden Bears are ranked as high as No. 9 in the nation in preseason magazines and junior DeSean Jackson is a top Heisman Trophy candidate.

Festivities will run from 12-2 p.m., with a pre-event starting at 11 a.m. by the North Tunnel. Fans should enter Memorial Stadium through the North Tunnel. Due to a concert at the Greek Theatre, parking will be very limited and public transportation is recommended. Click here for specific parking information.

In addition to photo opportunities with the players, the members of the team and coaching staff will be available for autographs. We ask all fans to respect the "one autograph per player or coach" guideline this year. The dance team, the Cal Marching Band and Oski, Cal's lovable mascot, will also be on site to greet fans and pose for pictures. The California Victory Cannon, which debuted at the 1964 Big Game, will also be on display and available for pictures.

The official 2007 game day shirt, media guides, Cal merchandise and season tickets will be for sale. Free burritos will be available to the first 1,000 fans courtesy of Baja Fresh and soft drinks and other samplings will be served, compliments of Baja Fresh and Coca-Cola.
