PASADENA - Cal head coach Jeff Tedford and preseason honorable mention All-America Mike Mohamed participate in the West Coast Pac-10 Media Day at the historic Rose Bowl Thursday, July 29. The event began at 9:30 a.m. PT and is streamed live on Pac-10.org, with Tedford and Mohamed appearing on stage at 10:45 a.m. PT.

Each Pac-10 institution is represented by its head football coach and a leading returning student-athlete, who are given the opportunity to address media members from around the country. In addition, Pac-10 Commissioner Larry Scott is on hand to speak to the media.

Fans can take part and submit questions for the Pac-10 head coaches and players in attendance via the Pac10 Twitter account (twitter.com/pac10). Questions may be submitted any time leading up to the event or on the day itself. The best questions will be selected and asked by the webcast's host, Steve Physioc, who will be calling Pac-10 football games this season on Fox Sports Net.

The Media Day webcast began at 9 a.m. PT with Steve Physioc and proceeded with the following schedule:

Tedford and all of the Pac-10's head football coaches have spent the last two days on the East Coast, participating in a national press conference held at the W New York hotel in Manhattan on Tuesday before having dinner with the ESPN GameDay crew and other ESPN personnel at a private location.

On Wednesday, Pac-10 Commissioner Larry Scott and the coaches rang the opening bell on NASDAQ, posed for a few photo ops then headed to ESPN headquarters in Bristol, Conn., to go through a series of appearances on various ESPN shows and conduct additional interviews.

"The Pac-10 conference is one of the top of the football leagues in the country," said Tedford. "It is important that we do everything we can to promote our brand of football and create opportunities to increase our national media exposure. This media tour on the East Coast is one vehicle to accomplishment that."

After a long day that ended with a class that wrapped around 3:30 p.m., Mohamed arrived in Pasadena early Wednesday and after checking in at his hotel and grabbing some dinner chatted with the Bear Blog.

Cal opens its 2010 season vs. UC Davis on Saturday, Sept. 4. The upcoming campaign also includes visits from Arizona State, Colorado, Oregon, Stanford, UCLA and Washington during a seven-game home schedule.

As Cal football prepares for its final season in the current Memorial Stadium, it is important to purchase season tickets this year.
