BERKELEY - Cal football fans can look forward to a full day of action at Memorial Stadium on Saturday, March 23, including the 2013 Cal Football Spring Game presented by Shaw Transportation Management. A new website has been created with all of the detailed information at CalBears.com/2013springgame. The spring game will kick off at 4 p.m. and be televised live by Pac-12 Networks. Admission is free. "We are looking forward to seeing our fans for the spring game on March 23," head coach Sonny Dykes said. "We are pleased that our fans have been able to enjoy the spring football experience with us and this will be a culmination of that. Together we will continue building the excellence of the Cal football tradition." The activities begin with the uniform and equipment surplus sale open to the public starting at 11 a.m. on the west side of Memorial Stadium through Gate 2. Gates 1-6 will open to the public for the spring game at 3 p.m. (one hour before kickoff), and campus parking lots will be open for tailgating for $10 per car. Fans can enjoy a variety of giveaways at the event, including team posters to the first 5,000 in attendance and eco-friendly reusable Cal shopping bags for 2,300 people. Fans can also take part in a scavenger hunt for a chance to win airfare, hotel accommodations and game tickets for two to a 2013 Cal football road game. A pregame Fun Zone and kids' activities will also be set up at Lisa and Douglas Goldman Plaza with inflatable games, face painting, poster making, football drills simulation, uniform dress station, pictures with cut outs and more. On-field promotions will give fans the opportunity to participate in a punt, pass and kick competition, punt returns, a quarterback challenge and a relay race. The exclusive Field Club will be open to all and feature concessions, two levels of seating and over 20 televisions to watch the spring game on the Pac-12 Networks and catch all of the day's NCAA Tournament basketball action. In addition, all the concessions on the new concourse located on the west side of Memorial Stadium will be open. Following the game, Golden Bear players and coaches will be available on the field for a post-game autograph and meet-and-greet session. All 2013 Cal football spring practices take place at Memorial Stadium and are open to the public free of charge. The next practice is scheduled for Friday, March 8 (6:30 - 9 p.m.). During two Friday evening practices at Memorial Stadium on March 8 and 15, students can get a $10 off a Student Season Pass for the 2013 football season. One purchaser each Friday will be randomly selected to win an iPad mini. For practices fans should enter the stadium through Gate 1 on the north end, where they will be directed onto the concourse level and into available seating in the lower area of sections EE, F, FF and G. Fans are not allowed onto the field.
