CAL CAREER: Was converted from a defensive end to a tight end during the spring of 2008 and spent one season in the position before an injury-filled 2009 ended his collegiate playing days ... was expected to take over as the team's full-time starter at tight end in 2009 but broke his scapula in spring practice and then suffered a career-ending knee injury during training camp after having recovered from the broken scapula ... played in a total of 25 games with five starts (12/2 on offense and 13/3 on defense) ... had three career catches for 23 yards and a touchdown offensively, while contributing 14 tackles, 2.0 TFL, 0.5 sacks and a fumble recovery on the defensive side of the ball.

2007: Returned from a 2006 knee injury to play in all 13 games with three starts at defensive end ... registered 13 tackles, 2.0 TFL, 0.5 sacks and a fumble recovery ... had a career-high three tackles, as well as his first career TFL (1.5) and sack (0.5) vs. Louisiana Tech ... recorded two tackles vs. Arizona, including 0.5 for loss ... also had a pair of tackles vs. Oregon State ... added a fumble recovery against Colorado State.

HIGH SCHOOL: Registered a school record 18.0 sacks, forced three fumbles and posted one interception (returned 42 yards for a TD) as a defensive end ... SuperPrep listed him on its All-Far West team and regarded him as the No. 78 overall player in the state of California ... Scout.com tabbed him the No. 55 defensive end in the nation ... earned second-team All-State and first-team All-Area and All-San Joaquin Athletic Association honors as a senior, helping St. Mary's win its first NorCal Division I championship ... also gained more than 200 yards and scored three touchdowns as a tight end ... as a junior, collected 64 tackles, 13.0 sacks, three fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles as a first-team All-SJAA pick ... also lettered for three years in basketball and was named the team's Most Valuable Player in 2003.
