Director of Football Operations
Mike McHugh enters his fifth year as director of football operations at Cal.
PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS Brings 24 years of coaching experience at the professional, college and high school levels to the Cal program.
Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Cal football program.
Included in his responsibilities at Cal, are the coordination of team travel, the building and maintenance of the program's budget and the organization of training camp.
Also organizes the team's community relations efforts which include student-athletes visits to childrens' hospitals, reading to elementary students and various food and clothing drives.
He is also the assistant director of the Cal Football summer camps.
Served as the team liaison for the Bears' appearances in the 2003 Insight Bowl, the 2004 Holiday Bowl, the 2005 Las Vegas Bowl and the 2006 Holiday Bowl.
Also worked with Coach Tedford at Oregon, when Tedford was offensive coordinator and McHugh was director of football operations.
Was the Oregon team liaison to the Holiday Bowl and the Sun Bowl while being involved in the recruiting efforts of the Ducks.
In his two seasons with the Detroit Lions, he worked on the staff of Marty Mornhinweg, whom he worked with at Missouri.
Sings in a classic rock cover band named "Tightwad Hill" which has performed at post-bowl parties in Las Vegas and San Diego.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS A PLAYER Played tight end and wide receiver from 1979-81 at the University of Findlay (Ohio).
A member of the 1979 NAIA national championship team.
Also ran track at Findlay.
A two-year wide receiver at Potomac State Junior College in Keyser, W.Va. (1976-77).
