11/14/2011 Cal Visits Stanford for 114th Big GameGolden Bears and Cardinal resume nation's 10th-longest running rivalry Saturday at Stanford Stadium Wes McGaugh is in his fourth season as the football athletic trainer at Cal in 2011. McGaugh oversees the injury prevention, evaluation and management for the Cal football program, as well as player injury rehab. He previously spent three campaigns as an assistant trainer with the San Francisco 49ers from 2005-07. McGaugh earned a bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sports Science from Howard Payne University in 2002, and was honored as the school's Outstanding Young Graduate of the Year in 2009. He added a master's in Sports Health Care from the Arizona School of Health Sciences in 2004. McGaugh is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA). He has taken up an interest in running and has recently participated in four marathons. McGaugh and his wife, Patty, reside in Santa Clara. Last Updated: August 4, 2011 |
