Former Boise State defensive standout Gabe Franklin spent two seasons on the Cal football staff in as an administrative assistant on the defenside side of the football from 2008-09. From 2002-04, Franklin was a part of a Boise State team that amassed a 36-3 record with two bowl victories. In 2004, Franklin recorded a team-high 17 pass breakups with 61 tackles and four interceptions en route to earning first-team all-conference honors. He earned second-team all-league honors as a junior in 2003 after snaring eight interceptions. After Boise State, Franklin was a free agent signee with the San Diego Chargers in 2005.
