1998: began the season as Cal's starter, but ended up splitting time with Tim Wolleck after an inconsistent performance in the first two games when he missed a 45-yarder vs. Houston and a 36-yarder vs. Nebraska ... biggest highlight came when he hit a game-winning 45-yard field goal with 11:01 left in the game at Oregon State ... that tied his career long ... finished the year hitting 5-of-9 field goals and 10-of-13 extra points.

1997: appeared in all 11 games, but handled kickoff duties only versus Arizona and Arizona State...was good on 6-of-10 field goal attempts, including two from beyond 40 yards out...one was a 45-yard field goal as the halftime gun sounded to get Cal back into the Cal-Stanford game at 21-10...also knocked home 18-of-24 PATs...opened season with a 5-for-5 PAT performance at Houston...drilled a pair of field goals the following week versus Oklahoma, including a 35-yarder...also was good on a 40-yard field goal at UCLA on Oct. 25...ended the year with a total of 36 points.
