Prior to coming to Cal, Agnini rowed with the Pennsylvania Athletic Club, winning four national championships for Penn AC. He held a number of positions in the Philadelphia, Pa., area, including the role of Assistant Director for the Masters Rowing Association. Agnini has coached for the United States on numerous occasions in the past five years. Most recently, he coached the heavyweight 4- to a sixth-place finish and was an assistant for the heavyweight eight (gold medal, world record time) at U23 World Championships in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. In 2010, he led the lightweight 4- to a bronze medal, first ever medal for the U.S. in that event, and also coached the heavyweight 4- to a seventh-place finish, serving as an assistant coach for heavyweight eight that got silver at U23 World Championships in Belarus. In 2009, he coached the lightweight 4- to eighth place at U23 World Championships in Prague. He coached the U.S. Under 23 lightweight 4- to an eighth-place finish at the U23 World Championships in Brandenberg, Germany, in July of 2008. While coaching at Penn AC from May to September of 2007, Agnini guided a U.S. coxed pair from Penn AC that reached the 2007 World Championships, winning the B final to claim seventh place overall. In addition, he has also coached at St. Joseph's Preparatory School in Philadelphia in the springs of 2004 and 2005. A product of Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio, Agnini graduated in 2002 with degrees in psychology and history. He competed at the IRA Regatta while rowing at Marietta. |
