Coach Ben Braun is regarded as one of college basketball's top teachers, strategists and coaches. In his first year as Cal's head coach, Braun led the Golden Bears to a second-place finish in the Pacific-10 Conference and was named the 1997 Pac-10 Coach of the Year. The Golden Bears went on to the NCAA Tournament and advanced to the Sweet 16. In 1999, Braun continued to show he's one of the best at tournament time, leading the Bears to the NIT Championship.
