BERKELEY - California men's basketball coach Mike Montgomery will be a guest on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area's Chronicle Live program on Tuesday, October 13. Montgomery will sit down with host Greg Papa to discuss the 2009-10 season. The show airs from 5-6 p.m. and will be rebroadcast from 11 p.m.-midnight.

In one season at the helm, Montgomery helped the Golden Bears earn a berth in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2006 and a Top-25 ranking (No. 22) for the first time since 2003. He took a team that was projected to finish eighth in the Pac-10 preseason poll last year and led them to a tie for third place. Montgomery's career record is 569-255 (.691), a mark that places him 10th in victories among active coaches at the Division I level.

Cal has earned some high preseason rankings thus far - No. 14 Athlon Sports, No. 16 The Sporting News and ESPN The Magazine, and No. 20 CBSSports.

Your first chance to catch the Bears in action will on Thursday, Nov. 5, when the Bears welcome Chico State for an exhibition game at 7:30 p.m. at Haas Pavilion. The season opener is slated for Monday, Nov. 9, vs. Murray State at 8 p.m. at Haas. For tickets, please click here.
