April 5, 2012 Connect with us: Facebook | Twitter | Youtube WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - California men's basketball seniors Harper Kamp and Jorge Gutierrezwere each among honorees for the 2012 Pac-12 Men's Basketball All-Academic teams, as announced by Commissioner Larry Scott on Thursday, April 5. Kamp was named to the second team for a second time to give the Golden Bears 19 all-time selections, and Gutierrez received honorable mention. To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor. Kamp was this year's Pac-12 Men's Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year, presented by Toyo Tires. His selection to the all-academic second team is the second of his career. Gutierrez, who was the conference Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year was a two-time all-academic second team selection in the previous two seasons.
