WALNUT CREEK, CA - California senior left-hander Travis Talbott has been named Pacific-10 Conference Pitcher of the Week for May 24-29, Pac-10 Commissioner Tom Hansen announced.

Talbott, from Santa Cruz, Calif., picked up a win and a save at No. 7 Arizona last weekend, helping the Bears win two of three over the Wildcats. He earned the save in the first game of the series, throwing two and one-third innings with no hits, no runs, one walk and two strikeouts. It was his ninth save of the season, tying him for second on the California all-time single-season save list. In game three, Talbott earned the win by pitching the final three and two-thirds innings with no hits, no runs, one walk and three strikeouts. For the weekend, he threw six innings without allowing a hit or a run, while issuing two walks and striking out five. Talbott finished the season 6-1 with nine saves and a 1.18 ERA. He had 36 strikeouts in 45 and two-thirds innings, and opponents batted only .185 against him.

The Pitcher of the Week honor is the first for Talbott and the 26th selection all-time for California.
