Danny Campbell will be assisting the California baseball program this season as an undergraduate assistant coach, working with the Golden Bear pitchers. Last year, Campbell joined Cal as a transfer from Santa Rosa Junior College, but due to an arm injury was not able to play.

At Santa Rosa JC, Campbell was named Bay Valley West Pitcher of the Year in 2003, going 10-1 with 80 strikeouts and a 2.67 ERA. Prior to his junior college career, he was a standout at St. Vincent De Paul High School, earning league MVP and All-Empire first-team honors in 2001, going 8-2 and batting .451. Campbell is majoring in psychology at Cal.
