WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - California sophomore Kelsey Santisteban earned All-Pac-12 Second Team Cross Country honors, the league announced. Santisteban earned league accolades after she placed ninth overall to lead Cal in the Pac-12 Championships on Oct. 27 in Santa Clarita, Calif. She finished the 6,000-meter race in 20:30 to pace the Golden Bears in the conference event. The sophomore earned a berth in the NCAA Championships in Louisville, Ky. with a season-best time of 19:15 in the 6,000-meter race in the NCAA Regionals in Seattle. Santisteban finished the prestigious NCAA Championships 70th overall with a time of 20:34 in the 6,000-meter race. Santisteban competed in three races earlier in the fall, placing 10th in the Badger Invitational in Madison, Wisc. with a time of 19:57 in the 6,000-meter race, third in the Panorama Farms Invitational in Charlottesville, Va. with a time of 17:37 in the 5,000-meter race, and second in the season-opening USF Invitational in San Francisco with a time of 17:08 in the 5,000-meter race. The top seven finishers at the Pac-12 Championships are named to the first team. The eighth through 14th finishers at the Conference Championships are placed on the second team.
