SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Five Golden Bears led the California men's cross country team to a 12th-place finish, while several individuals had strong showings on the women's side on Saturday morning in the Bronco Invitational at Baylands Regional Park in Sunnyvale, Calif. Sophomore Jordan Locklear paced Cal on the men's side, finishing 20th overall with a time of 24:30.9 in the 8000-meter race. Senior Joe Greenspun placed 35th with a time of 24:44.3 and freshman Juan David Garcia was 44th with a time of 24:54.3. Sophomore Bryan Jordan (25:22.9) and freshman (25:57.6) also represented the Bears in Santa Clara. Only four individuals competed for the Bears on the women's side with sophomore Laura O'Neill leading the way. She placed 17th overall with a time of 17:37.7 in the 5000-meter race. Fellow sophomore Kathleen Uyttewaal completed the course in 17:56.4 to place 36th overall. Redshirt freshmen Christine Zavesky (19:06.1) and Sam Ralstin (19:32.4) also represented the Bears in Saturday's race. Former Cal standout Taylor Dutch, who completed her eligibility with the Bears last season, raced unattached in Saturday's race and took first place overall with a time of 16:59.1.
The Bears will have next weekend off before competing in the Pac-12 Conference Championship in Santa Clarita, Calif. on Saturday, Oct. 27. Men's Results
