Senior Amanda Hunter leapt a lifetime-best 43-3.25 in the triple jump to finish 12th in the event at the NCAA Championships Friday at Hayward Field.
On a day when the Bears had two Pac-12 champions in action, neither was able to advance to the finals in their respective events at the NCAA Championships Thursday. Junior Hammed Suleman placed 21st in qualifying in the long jump, while senior Ray Stewart took fifth in his heat of the 110-meter hurdles.
Junior Malaina Payton finished 10th in the women's long jump and Cal's men's 4x100-meter relay took 22nd on the opening day of competition at the NCAA Track & Field Championships Wednesday at Hayward Field.
A total of 27 Golden Bears earned a place on the Pac-12 All-Academic track & field team announced Wednesday, with nine members of the men's squad and 18 members of the women's team recognized.
