Junior (2008): Earned a spot on the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's Division I All-Academic team...recorded a time of 3:51.58 in the semifinals of the 1500 at the NCAA Championships...finished in third in the 1500 at 3:43.37 at the NCAA West Regional to advance to the national championships...took third in the 1500 meters at the Pac-10 Championships, earning a new personal-best time of 3:42.52, which also ranks sixth in school history...ranked No. 24 in the 1500...took second in the mile at the Brutus Hamilton Invitational, clocking a regional-qualifying 4:00.59, earning Cal's fifth best all-time score in that event...recorded a regional qualifying time of 3:45.85 in the 1500 at the Stanford Invitational...took third in the 3000 at the Big Meet, clocking in at 8:18.12...was a multiple winner at the United Heritage Invitational, after claiming first in the 3000, Matusak won the 800 with a new PR of 1:52.28...provisionally qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships with a personal-best time of 4:03.15 in the mile at the Husky Classic...in the 2008 cross country season, was an All-Pac-10 second-team choice.

Freshman (2006): In outdoors, clocked a lifetime-and Cal season-best 3:45.04 when he was sixth in the 1500 meters at the Pac-10 championships...also 12th (14:35.81) in the 5000 meters at Pac-10s...ran his lifetime-best 14:31.31 in the 5000 in the Big Meet...tallied a lifetime-best 8:06.18 in fifth place in the 3000 at the MPSF Indoor championships.
