Transportation

Shuttles
Pregame - On gamedays, public transportation is highly recommended. Gameday shuttles ($1 fee) offer transportation to the Memorial Stadium from Downtown Berkeley BART station and nearby campus locations. Shuttle service begins two hours prior to kick-off. (For further detail see parking and transportation website: pt.berkeley.edu). Shuttles are ADA accessible.

An ADA Express Shuttle runs from the Underhill Garage to the Prospect Court Parking Lot (Gate 6). The ADA Express Shuttle begins two hours before the start of the football game, and ends one hour after the conclusion of the game. The ADA Express Shuttle runs every 15-20 minutes.

Postgame - For guests needing assistance after the game, there are several wheelchair accessible shuttles available that will transport you back to BART or campus lots. Three of the shuttles leave 20-30 minutes after the conclusion of the game, one (Underhill/Prospect Express Shuttle) will run continuously until one hour postgame.

Postgame shuttles pick-up locations:

  • In front of the Haas School of Business by the bear statue (Large Bus)
  • On the East Rim at the corner of Centennial and Stadium Rim Way (Large Bus). This shuttle bus should not be confused with other buses there that only transport security staff to the Lawrence Hall of Science parking areas.
  • South end of Prospect Parking Lot

Golf Cart Service
Golf cart service begins three hours before the start of football games and ends one hour after the conclusion of the game. The service consists of multiple golf carts that go back and forth between the stadium and the designated golf cart pick-up points, which can be identified by the large A-frame signs on the sidewalk, and a pick-up point sign on the golf cart windshield. For safety reasons, golf carts are not allowed to enter the west side of Memorial Stadium. Note: those using wheelchairs are encouraged to park in the Witter Lot, rather than rely on golf cart service, which primarily serves persons with mobility disabilities that do not preclude their riding in standard golf carts (collapsible manual wheelchairs are OK, provided the rider can self-transfer to the golf cart).

From Northside to Stadium

  • Upper Hearst Parking Garage (intersection of Hearst Avenue and Piedmont Avenue/Gayley Avenue), which has no DP parking spaces
  • The curb of the Greek Theatre (near city bus stop)

From Southside to Stadium

  • At the Bancroft Way curb in front of Kroeber Hall

  • Gate 6

Postgame - If you need golf cart service, please call (510) 410-7960 to arrange to be picked up.

Leaving the Game Early - If you find you need to unexpectedly leave during the game and need assistance returning to your car or to get to another point in the campus area, call (510) 410-7960 and, if possible, accessible golf cart service will be arranged for you.
