August 23         Student-Athlete Leadership Retreat

Who: Any interested student-athletes

Where and When: American River, 7 am - 6 pm

Enhance your leadership and communication skills

Get to know student-athletes from other teams

 

August 25     Battle of the Bears/Big C Society Welcome Back BBQ 

Who: All student-athletes

Where and When: Begins at Edwards Stadium w/ BBQ taking place on Oski Lane, 3:30 pm - 5 pm

Food, Fun and Good times with your fellow student-athletes

 

September 1       Bear SAAC Kick-Off 

Who: Current and new Bear SAAC representatives

Where and When: Haas Club room, 7:30 - 8:30 pm

Have a voice in athletic department issues, plan programming, get involved!

Subsequent meetings start Sept 15 and run every two weeks...

 

September 9    Fall Speakers Bureau - Mike Green 

Who: Mandatory for all student-athletes

Where and When: Dwinelle 155, 6:30 or 8 pm

Presentation on recognizing personal accountability and making responsible

decisions in regards to drugs and alcohol.

 

September 20     College Sports Day 

Who: Anyone interested in getting involved

Where and When: Maxwell Field, 11 am - 1 pm

Athletic department wide community engagement event that gives local youth an

opportunity to learn more about college athletics.  Each team will provide a fun kid's game/booth

related to their sport and sign autographs.

 

October    The Athlete's Advantage: Marketing Yourself as a Student-Athlete 

Who: Anyone interested in attending

Where and When: Various dates throughout October

Learn how to use your student-athlete experience as an advantage in your

career search - resume and cover letter writing, interview tips and much more!

Who: Any interested student-athletes

Where and When: Claremont Hotel, 7:00 - 9:00 pm

Discussions about future career paths with professionals from our community

First 150 student-athletes to sign up with Amy

 

October 26      Professional Polish 

Who: Senior student-athletes

Where and When: Bancroft Hotel, 7:00 - 9:00 pm

Learn proper etiquette and protocol for business dinner

Includes 4 course meal to practice your skills

Dress to Impress...wear appropriate business attire

First 100 student-athletes to sign up with Amy

 

October 28      Etiquette Basics 

Who: Sophomore student-athletes

Where and When: Bancroft Hotel, 7:00 - 9:00 pm

Learn how to handle everything from sports banquets to donor receptions

Includes 4 course meal to practice your skills

November 9   Faculty Feast 

Who: All student-athletes are encouraged to participate

Where and When: Pauley Ballroom, 5:30 pm

Invite a professor to join you for dinner and attend Men's season opener
