  • Today's game marked the first-ever meeting between Cal and Ole Miss.
  • Cal is now 5-10 all-time against Southeastern Conference team with a two-game winning streak over SEC schools including a home victory over Tennessee in 2007.
  • Cal has trailed in all three games this season in the second half (Ole Miss led at halftime, 16-7) but is outscoring its opponents in the second half (57-13) and fourth quarter (40-6).
  • Cal has shutout each of its last two opponents in the second half.
  • The 53 rushing yards allowed tonight were the fewest since Cal held Washington State to 14 rushing yards in 2015.
  • Cal has forced three turnovers in each of its first three games after forcing three turnovers twice during the 2016 campaign.
  • Cal's three interceptions Saturday were its most since picking off four passes in the 2015 season opener against Grambling State.
  • Cal's 5.0 sacks Saturday were its most since picking up 7.0 against Washington State in 2015.
  • Devante Downs totaled a career-high-tying 14 tackles, as well as career highs in all sack (2.0, -13 yards) and tackles for loss (3.0, -21 yards) categories while adding his fifth career interception and second of the season as well as one quarterback hurry. Downs leads all active Cal players in being involved in nine turnovers during his career including four in the first three games of this season with two interceptions, two forced fumbles (one recovered by Cal) and one fumble recovery
  • Patrick Laird rushed a career-high 22 times for 78 yards and one touchdown in his first career start with the score his fifth touchdown of the season and fourth rushing. His five receptions were also a career high.
  • Ross Bowers finished 24-of-47 for 236 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions.
  • Through three games, Cal's turnover margin is plus-four, including a margin of plus-one tonight. Cal has won the turnover battle in each of its first three contests.
  • Kanawai Noa's 28-yard reception in the first quarter was the longest of his career. He ended the night with six catches for 81 yards, both career highs.
  • Cal was 2-for-3 on fourth downs Saturday and is now 6-for-7 on the season.
  • Cameron Goode iced the game with his his first career interception that he returned 32 yards for a touchdown. It was his first career INT. The last time a Cal player returned an interception for a touchdown was Raymond Davison III at Oregon State last year.
  • Jaylinn Hawkins recorded his first career interception on a pass breakup by Davison that was his first of the season and fifth of his career. Davison also notched two pass breakups and 2.0 tackles for loss in a game for the first time in his career, while equaling a career-best 1.0 sack for the second consecutive contest.
  • Alex Funches had a career-high five tackles and garnered both his first career sack and quarterback hurry.
  • Traveon Beck had a career-high four tackles.
  • Camryn Bynum had a career-high two pass breakups.
  • Hamilton Anoa'i had a career-high-tying 1.0 sack.
  • Elijah Hicks tied a career-high two tackles in his first career start.
  • Matt Anderson was 2-of-4 in field goals and 3-of-3 on extra points today for a total of nine points. Anderson now boasts 244 career points and is tied with Mark Jensen and Robbie Keen for sixth after passing Russell White (242) for eighth. He is now within 44 points of Cal's all-time leader Doug Brien (288), while his 44 career field goals made are 12 shy of Brien's 56, and both his 111 extra points and 114 extra--point attempts 47 shy of Tom Schneider's 158 and 161.
  • Brandon Singleton's 45 receiving yards were a career best, while his four receptions tied a career high previously set vs. Oregon in 2016.
  • Jordan Duncan joined Hicks and Laird in making his first career start.
