BERKELEY – The rain stayed away from Strawberry Canyon early Sunday afternoon.

And California (19-8, 2-3) held off Stanford (16-12, 0-2) in similar fashion to tab the Pac-12 series win in a 7-4 comeback showing against its Bay Area rival at Levine-Fricke Field.
Â
Senior catcher
Annie Aldrete posted her first grand slam of the season for the go-ahead run that moved the Golden Bears ahead for the remainder of the game in the bottom of the fourth. Aldrete's knocker also brought home
Lindsay Rood,
Jazmyn Jackson and
Kobie Pettis.
Â
The Bears finished the inning with five runs after
Bradie Fillmore strolled home on a walk. Fillmore reached after being hit by a pitch to lead off the half. Cal then forced three walks to load the bases and close its deficit 4-3.
Â
Rood finished with three runs to tie her single-game season high, including leading off the bottom of the third with a homer of her own. She also found the plate in the first inning on a ground out from Jackson.
Â
Cal kept Stanford scoreless through two innings, leading by one during the first two frames. However, the Cardinal responded relatively quickly this time, not letting one run determine Sunday's outcome after losing 1-0 Saturday. With loaded bases and two outs in the top of the third the Cardinal's Lauren Bertoy notched her first career grand slam to move Stanford ahead 4-1.
Â
Senior pitcher
Stephanie Trzcinski posted her fourth win of the season across 4.0 innings pitched, while
Zoe Conley was credited with her third save of the season.
Â
The Bears look for the sweep as they return for the final game against the Cardinal on Monday at 3 p.m. (PT).
