INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Cal men's swimming and diving team heads to its final meet of the 2016-17 season when it competes at the NCAA Championships in Indianapolis, Ind. from March 22-25. Hosted by IUPUI, the national championships will be streamed live every day through either the Jaguars' website or ESPN3.

Cal heads to Indianapolis with the most swimmers invited of any team in the nation as the Bears will bring 17 swimmers as well as diver Connor Callahan. On the line will be a significant stretch of success under head coach David Durden as Cal has finished in the top two of the team standings in each of the last seven seasons, winning three national titles (2011, 2012, 2014) along the way.

The meet also represents the final competition as an undergraduate for senior Ryan Murphy and the Ponte Vedra, Fla. native is also looking to finish off his place in college swimming history. The three-time gold medalist and world record holder at the 2016 Rio Olympics has won both backstroke events in each of his three seasons at Cal and has 10 overall national titles heading into his final competition.

LAST TIME OUT
The Bears showcased their postseason form at the Pac-12 Championships in Federal Way, Wash., claiming seven individual titles and winning four relays. Sophomore Andrew Seliskar was a triple-winner, earning victories in the 200 IM, 400 IM and 200 fly while Ryan Murphy finished his final Pac-12 meet with wins in the 100 and  200 back. One day after the Pac-12 Championships concluded, Cal also made a splash at the Pac-12 Invitational as Zheng Wen Quah made his Cal debut and set the second-fastest time in the nation this year in the 200 fly to qualify for the NCAA Championships.

PAC-12 PROWESS
For the second-straight year, Cal captured the most individual swimming titles of any team and won the most relays (four of five) at the Pac-12 Championships. Andrew Seliskar brought home three victories, Ryan Murphy won two and two Bears swimming their first Pac-12 meet, Matthew Josa and Pawel Sendyk, each earned one.

WORLD STAGE
Cal head coach David Durden will serve as head coach of the Team USA men at the 2017 FINA World Championships in Budapest, Hungary. USA Swimming announced his appointment on Jan. 29 and the meet will mark the second World Championships in a row that Durden will helm Team USA after serving in the same capacity at the 2015 edition in Russia. Cal's head coach is the reigning ASCA Coach of the Year after five California Aquatics swimmers captured nine medals and a world record at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

STAYING CONSISTENT
By finishing second at the 2016 NCAA Championships, the Bears ensured their seventh-straight season in the top two under head coach David Durden. Ryan Murphy won both the 100 and 200-yard backstroke for the third consecutive year and was named the CSCAA co-National Swimmer of the Year along with former high school teammates Caeleb Dressel of Florida and Joe Schooling of Texas. Josh Prenot capped a standout college career with his first NCAA title, edging Texas' Will Licon to win the 400 IM.

7 STRAIGHT YEARS AMONG NCAA TOP 2
After placing second at the 2016 NCAA Championships, Cal carries a remarkable run of success with it into the 2016-17 season. Head coach David Durden's squad has finished first or second in the nation in each of the last seven seasons and has never placed lower than fourth in his nine seasons as coach. During that run, the Bears own three NCAA championships (2011, 2012, 2014) and two Pac-12 titles (2013, 2014).
