13 Swimmers Earn NCAA Invitations
A total of 13 Golden Bear swimmers, as well as all five Cal relays, have earned invitations to the NCAA Women's Swimming & Diving Championships that will be held March 15-18 in Indianapolis.

The list includes swimmers from all four classes – four seniors, two juniors, three sophomores and four freshmen. Qualifying for divers takes place March 6-8 at the Zone E Championships in Flagstaff, Ariz.

Those who have earned their trips to swim individual events at nationals are:
- Kathleen Baker – 100 back, 200 back, 200 IM
- Amy Bilquist – 50 free, 100 back, 200 back
- Keaton Blovad – 100 back, 200 back, 200 IM
- Chenoa Devine – 500 free, 1650 free
- Marina Garcia – 100 breast, 200 breast
- Valerie Hull – 50 free
- Celina Li – 200 IM, 400 IM, 200 fly
- Katie McLaughlin – 200 free, 500 free, 200 fly
- Maddie Murphy – 50 free, 100 fly
- Farida Osman – 50 free, 100 free, 100 fly
- Noemie Thomas – 100 fly, 200 fly
- Kristen Vredeveld – 50 free, 100 free, 200 free
- Abbey Weitzeil – 50 free, 100 free, 200 free
Baker, a sophomore who won a silver medal in the 100-meter backstroke and gold on the 400-meter medley relay at the Rio Olympics, is seeded first or second in three events. She leads the country in the 200-yard back after swimming a meet-record 1:48.33 to win the Pac-12 title last week. In addition, Baker rates second in the 100Â back and the 200 individual medley.

Osman, a senior, is also seeded among the top eight in three different events – third in the 100 fly, fourth in the 50 free and seventh in the 100 free, while three other Bears are among the top eight in two events – McLaughlin (7th 500 free, 6th 200 fly), Weitzeil (2nd 50 free, 6th 100 free) and Bilquist (4th 200 back, 8th 100 back).

Cal's relays are all seeded in the top three, including the two-time defending champion 200 free relay, which leads the country with a best time of 1:26.31.
