In the men's mile, Thomas Joyce crossed the finish line in fifth with a nationally-ranked time of 3:58.47. He just missed setting the school indoor record by .14.

Head coach Tony Sandoval said he was pleased with his team's performance in the two-day event and that this was a great tune up for the MPSF Indoor Championships.

"Ashtyn Davis and Paramveer Chohan won with impressive marks in winning the 60-meter hurdles and the 400, respectively," Sandoval said. "Both are national marks, while Paramveer just missed the 400-meter indoor school record by .05. Thomas Joyce was in a loaded race with collegiate and professional runners."

Numerous other Bears put up impressive marks on Saturday. In the 3000 meters, Robert Brandt finished in ninth with a personal-best, nationally-ranked time of 7:58.58.

On the women's side, Destiny Parker placed second in the weight throw with a mark of 66'3.75. In the 60-meter dash, Jayla Scholis finished in third (7.61). Lauren Martinez claimed a mark of 12'10.75 in the pole vault, good enough to tie for eighth.

The Bears have next week off before returning to Seattle for the MPSF Indoor Championships from Feb. 24-25.
