BERKELEY - The Cal men's swimming and diving team returns to Spieker Aquatics Complex for the first of back-to-back home dual meets when the Bears welcome USC for a 2 p.m. meet on Feb. 3.

Cal returned to dual meet action on Jan. 20 and 21 with a pair of wins in Arizona. The Bears defeated Arizona 161-113 and then earned a 160-130 victory over Arizona State the next day. In recognition of a strong week individually, senior Long Gutierrez was named National Swimmer of the Week by CollegeSwimming.com while sophomore Andrew Seliskar earned Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honors from the Cal athletic department.

The Bears carry the No. 2 national ranking into competition against No. 15 USC and the Trojans bring a 5-1 dual meet record with them into Friday's meet. Head coach Dave Salo's squad owns wins over Cal Poly, UC Santa Barbara, Cal State Bakersfield, Arizona and Wisconsin but fell 156.5-142.5 to Arizona State in November.

LAST TIME OUT
Cal registered the top time in every race it competed in to win dual meets against Arizona and Arizona State. Sophomore Andrew Seliskar won five individual races over the two-day stretch while senior Long Gutierrez claimed three individual wins and participated on two winning relays. With the successful trip to Arizona, the Bears improved to 3-0 in dual meets this season.

ON A ROLL
Freshman diver Connor Callahan continues to establish himself as a contributor for the Bears as the season goes along. His scores of 355.05 on the 1-meter and 382.65 on the 3-meter at Arizona State were both career-highs and each ranks No. 2 on Cal's all-time list.
