ATHENS, Ga. – Cal wrapped up the three-day Georgia Fall Invitational Sunday with another set of impressive swims, which included individual event wins by Amy Bilquist, Abbey Weitzeil and Noemie Thomas and a team title in the concluding 400-yard free relay.

Bilquist was the first to get to the victory stand when she captured the 200 back in an NCAA "A" qualifying time of 1:50.48. She was the second qualifier in the preliminaries, then dropped 2.68 seconds from her morning swim in the final to win by more than half a second over Michigan's Clara Smiddy.

Next up, Weitzeil posted the fastest time in school history in non-relay 100 free race as she touched in 46.95. Overall, the mark ranks second in Cal history behind only Missy Franklin's 46.66, which came leading off the 400 free relay at the 2015 NCAA Championships.

Thomas followed up her win from Saturday's 100 butterfly with triumph in the 200 fly. She tied for first with Virginia's Jenn Marrkand, with both swimmers finishing in 1:54.12. In addition, Katie McLaughlin took fifth in 1:55.85 and Sarah Darcel was eighth in 1:57.35.

In the 200 breaststroke, freshman Ali Harrison was timed in 2:10.92, which was good for fourth place and put her No. 5 on Cal's all-time list in the event. Chenoa Devine was Cal's lone swimmer in the 1650 free, and she placed fifth in 16:25.27.

The Bears wrapped up the meet with a more than full-second win in the 400 free relay. The quartet of Bilquist, McLaughlin, Valerie Hull and Weitzeil reached the  wall in 3:10.95, which ranks as the fifth-fastest relay in school history.

"This meet was good learning experience for both the coaches and the swimmers," head coach Teri McKeever said. "I think we're going to take a lot from this weekend, build on it and work to keep better through the rest of the year. This invitational continues to be a really important meet in our season. It's like a good mid-term exam and gives us good feedback on where we are and what we need to do."

In all, three individual swimmers registered NCAA "A" qualifying times during the three days of the invitational – Weitzeil in the 50 and 100 free, Bilquist in the 100 back and Thomas in the 100 fly. All five relays, including four that took first place, also qualified for the national championships in March. Overall, the Bears won 10 of the 18 swimming races in the seven-time field.

Cal will now take a break for fall final exams before closing out the calendar year hosting San Jose State at noon on Wednesday, Dec. 20 at Spieker Aquatics Complex.
