Bears Swim Fast Against Wolfpack
BERKELEY – In its final meet before the Thanksgiving holiday, Cal won 10 of 11 events in a dual meet against Nevada Friday, downing the Wolfpack, 127-65, at Legends Aquatic Center.

The Golden Bears set season bests in five of their events, including both the 400-yard medley relay (4:43.82) and the 200-yard free relay (1:32.35). Other swims that now top the chart came from
Katie McLaughlin in the 1000 free (10:00.28),
Abbey Weitzeil in the 200 free (1:46.62) and Sarah Darcel in the 400 individual medley (4:15.03).

Amy Bilquist, an NCAA scorer in the 200 back, raced in the event for the first time this year and posted a time of 1:58.25, while both
Noemie Thomas (50 free, 23,51) and
Jasmine Mau (200 fly, 2:03.09) both produced victories out of lane eight.

Cal's other wins came from Robin Neumann in the 500 free (4:51.78) and Darcel in the 200 breast (2:17.25). Nevada's lone victory came in the 100 free.

Cal will be back in competition Dec. 1-3 for the Georgia Fall Invitational, where the Bears will attempt to post qualifying times for March's NCAA Championships against a quality field.

"I thought we did a nice job after a pretty good week of work in practice," head coach
Teri McKeever said. "They'll now get a chance to go home to spend some time with their families before we head to Georgia, throw on a suit and see where we are."

Lumberjack Diving Invitational
FLAGSTAFF, Arizona – While the swimmers were racing in Berkeley, Cal's divers headed to the Lumberjack Invitational for three days of competition, starting with the 1-meter springboard Friday.

Junior
Phoebe LaMay was Cal's top finisher, taking third with a score of 294.60. In addition, freshman Briana Thai was 10th at 271.35. Kathleen Navas (16th, 242.65) and
Alexa Cacao (19th, 237.70) also dove in the 32-person field.

Diving continues with 3-meter on Saturday and platform on Sunday.
