BERKELEY – It's time to dance.

For a 21st-ranked California (11-6-0, 6-4-0 Pac-12) Thursday will be another opportunity to show how it can get down on the pitch.

In the First Round of NCAA playoffs, the Golden Bears host local rival San Francisco Dons (9-8-0, 6-1-0 WCC) at 1:30 p.m. (PT) at Edwards Stadium in what is expected to be a closely-contested rematch.

Fans will be able to follow the live stream here and via live stats here.

Cal, which finished as the 2017 Pac-12 runner-up, faced off with USF, which won the West Coast Conference title, on Sept. 17 in a late-night shootout  in San Francisco where the Bears came out with a 3-2 victory, spearheaded by Shinya Kadono's two-goal performance, including the game winner.

In the last seven seasons, the pair have matched up five times with the Bears winning 4-of-5 contests and the teams tying once. In 2015, the Bears routed the Dons 3-1 in Berkeley where senior captain Jose Carrera-Garcia opened scoring before former Bear Christian Thierjung sealed a victory with a brace.

Cal returns to the post season for the 12th time under 18-year head coach Kevin Grimes who took over the program in 2000. Overall, the Bears have made 18 playoff appearances, with their last bid coming in 2014.

"Anytime you make the NCAA it's an honor and an award for an excellent season," Grimes said.

The winner of the Thursday's contest will advance to the Second Round of the NCAA tournament and face No. 4 seed Louisville (11-2-1, 5-2-1 ACC), who earned a first-round bye, at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium in Louisville.

Presale tickets are available here. Adult tickets cost $10, students $5, senior citizens (65+) $5 and youth (2-17) $5.
