Cal-Colorado Postgame Notes

  • Matt Anderson scored four points, all on extra points, to increase his career total to 284 points. He is now four points shy of Doug Brien's school record of 288 points set from 1991-93.
  • Kanawai Noa caught a career-high two touchdown passes to take over the the team lead with in 2017. Noa finished with a career-high-tying and game-high-tying seven catches for 108 yards to mark his sixth straight game with at least six receptions.
  • Jordan Veasy set four career highs – most receptions in a game (7), most receiving yards in a game (111), most all-purpose yards in a game (111) and longest receptions (51 yards) – while equaling his single-game career with one touchdown reception for the seventh time.
  • Vic Wharton III threw the first TD pass of his career, a 15-yarder to Kanawai Noa in the first quarter. Wharton is first Cal wide receiver to throw TD pass since Keenan Allen hit fellow wide receiver Marvin Jones on a 17-yard pass vs. Stanford in 2010. Wharton III is also first non-Cal QB to throw TD pass since placekicker Vincenzo D'Amato connected with wide receiver Jackson Bouza for 10 yards on a successful fake field goal attempt vs. Northwestern in the 2013 opener.
  • Cal's 17-play, 79-yard scoring drive that used 5:43 on the clock in the second quarter was its longest scoring drive of the year in terms of number of plays.
  • Dylan Klumph recorded a career-high-tying and season-high seven punt attempts including a career-high five of 50 or more yards along with season highs of 333 punting yards and a 47.6 punting average.
  • Jordan Kunaszyk finished with a career-high 16 tackles, which tied for the second-most tackles by a Pac-12 player in a game in 2017 and was his third consecutive contest in double digits. Over the last three games, he has a total of 41 tackles for an average of 13.7 per game.
  • James Looney registered his third sack of the year in the first quarter and his second fumble recovery of the campaign in the third quarter and is now tied for the team lead with Devante Downs in both categories.
  • Evan Weaver had a career-high eight tackles, while Traveon Beck tied his career high with four.
  • Chris Palmer made his first career start.
  • Ross Bowers recorded career highs of 29 completions and 52 passing attempts.
  • Cal equaled a season-high with four touchdown passes with three from Bowers and one from Vic Wharton III.
  • Cal went 2-for-2 on fourth down to improve to 14-of-20 on the year.
