California Head Coach Cuonzo Martin
On game overall:
"One, we are so grateful to come up and compete against a program like Cal. They play extraordinarily hard. They hit us with a huge first punch right off the bat with the jump ball, but I think our guys responded well and I thought we competed well. We had a hard time competing on the glass, but we did a lot of good things tonight and I think this trip helped us and we will get better."
 
On what this game will help with during the season:
"The kind of focus that it requires to play great defense. I think we played great defense tonight and that's the kind of focus that we need in our season. We learned that tonight and we'll take that with us this season."

California Guard Grant Mullins
On what it's like to finally play with the team:
"It was great because you go through all of the summer workouts and all of the preseason, so it's good to finally get into a real game and see what all of that hard work goes into. I still think we have a lot of stuff to fine-tune, but it was just really fun to get out there with all of the guys and see what you've been working on for so long."
 
On what it's like not to have Rabb on the floor:
"Obviously he's such a threat on offense, but at the same time everybody on the team is unselfish and moves the ball, so he's just another great option we have on offense. Like when we went to Bird a lot, I'm sure we would have done that with him a little bit more as well."
 
On letting game come to him and being able to fit into the offense:
"I think that just comes with playing for so long. I'm a grad transfer so I've been through it. I've been in some pretty tough games and pretty tight games, so I think coming in as the new guy I don't really want to force stuff and disrupt what they've been building all this time, so just letting the game come to me.

California Center Kameron Rooks
On injuring foot during offseason:
"Yeah, I fractured my foot. It's all healed up now and I'm still trying to get my timing back, but that'll come along."
 
On building chemistry with point guards:
"Our team has great chemistry. That's the good thing about this team. I was able to get in position and they were able to find me"
