Cal-Washington State Postgame Notes

  • Quarterback Davis Webb completed 34-of-53 passes for 425 yards and 3 touchdowns. He now has 33 passing TDs this season, which puts him third on Cal's single-season list. Webb also ranks third in season passing yards, now with 3,601. Only Jared Goff has thrown more passing yards and touchdowns in a season. Webb also collected his eighth 300-yard passing performance tonight and his fourth 400-yard passing performance.
  • Demetris Robertson hauled in a 59-yard reception in the second quarter and a 57-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter, it was his fourth and fifth catches over 50 or more yards this season. Later in the game, Robertson set Cal's freshman record for receiving yards, passing DeSean Jackson's 601 in 2005. He now has 44 catches for 692 yards on the year. Robertson also tied Jackson's school freshman record for touchdowns in a season with seven. He ended the night with 6 catches for a career-high 141 yards and a touchdown.
  • Chad Hansen ended the game with 11 catches for 139 yards. He now ranks tied for fifth in single-season receptions (75, also Bobby Shaw in 1997) and he is sixth in single-season receiving yards (979). He has posted five games this season with 100 or more receiving yards and 10 or more receptions.
  • Khari Vanderbilt registered his first career interception in the first quarter. The interception snapped WSU quarterback Luke Falk's streak of 171 consecutive passes without an INT. Vanderbiltl led the Bears with nine tackls.
  • Jordan Veasy notched a season-best 5 receptions and his third touchdown of the season, an 8-yard catch in the second quarter. His previous high was three receptions, which he did twice, last time at Oregon State.
  • Tonight marked the first career start for Ashtyn Davis after he tallied eight tackles last week. He ended the night with five tackles and a pass breakup.
  • Cal extended its streak of scoring at least 20 points to 23 games in a row.
