Division I

The NCAA Division I Women's Rowing Championships are comprised of 312 total competitors (344 including spares) and provides for three events (I Eights, II Eights, and Fours), each covering a 2,000-meter course. The twelve selected teams are required to field two boats of eight rowers each and one boat of four rowers. In addition, four eight-women boats from institutions not represented in the team competition were selected. No fours selected on an "at-large" basis.

This year, the NCAA Division I Women's Rowing Committee selected Brown, California, Harvard-Radcliffe, Michigan State, Ohio State, Princeton, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington, Washington State, Wisconsin and Yale as the twelve teams in the championship competition. Joining the twelve teams are at-large eights from Clemson, Michigan, USC and Stanford.

In 2007, Brown won the national title at the NCAA Division I Women's Rowing Championships, May 25-27 at Melton Hill Lake in Oak Ridge, Tenn. Division II

The NCAA Division II Women's Rowing Championship provides for a maximum field of four teams in two events, requiring an Eight and a Four with a coxswain from each institution. It also provides for two at-large Eights selected from the remaining member institutions. One team was selected from each of the current three regions and one team was selected at-large. The two at-large Eights may be selected from any region.

This year, the NCAA Division II Women's Rowing Comittee selected Dowling, UC San Diego, Nova Southeastern and Western Washington to compete in the team championship. Joining those four teams are two at-large eights from Mercyhurst and Philadelphia University.

Division III

The NCAA Division III Women's Rowing Championship is comprised of 144 total competitors (169 including spares) and provides for one event (I Eight and II Eights together), covering a 2,000-meter course. Seven teams will be selected and each team is required to field two boats of eight rowers and a coxswain. It also provides for two at-large Eights selected from the remaining member institutions. Each region must be represented at the championship by either a team for an at-large Eight boat.

This year, the NCAA Division III Women's Rowing Committee received Williams as its automatic qualifying instiution and selected Bates, Ithaca, Puget Sound, St. Lawrence, Trinity and William Smith as the seven teams competing in the team championship. Joining the seven teams are at-large eights from the U.S. Coast Guard and Washington (Maryland).
