High School Recruits
Our coaches can respond to e-mails from all high school prospects. Under NCAA rules, Cal coaches may only call prospects after July 1 of your Junior year. You may call any of our coaches at any time, however, NCAA rules prohibit them from returning your calls until July 1 after your Junior year. If you are not yet a high school senior, we encourage you to continue calling our coaches even if you've left a message. Also, you may see our coaches scouting your competitions. Our coaches may not speak to you at these events until July 1 after your Junior year in high school. If you are a senior our coaches must wait until you are done with your event or tournament even if the event lasts for more than one day before they can talk to you.

Four Year Transfers
Because Cal has earned a reputation as one of the top athletic programs in the country, the Cal coaches receive a high volume of inquiries from potential applicants. Under NCAA rules, Cal may not respond via e-mail or phone to four-year college transfer students before the student obtains a release from the first college. The release must be faxed to the Cal Athletic Department at 510-642-3399. Four-year college transfer students must obtain an additional release to be immediately eligible for competition at Cal.
