New California head football coach Sonny Dykes will make his first appearance on the Cal Coaches Corner radio show Monday night. The show will return to the Claremont for this week. Joining Dykes on the show will be Golden Bear basketball head coaches Mike Montgomery and Lindsay Gottlieb, as well as Mikayla Lyles from the women's basketball team. The program airs live from the Paragon at the Claremont Hotel, Club and Spa from 6-7 p.m. on Mondays. Fans can watch in person or listen on NewsTalk 910 AM or online at CalBears.com

Dykes was officially named Cal's new head football coach on Dec. 5. The Dykes era at Cal will begin with three consecutive home games at the recently renovated Memorial Stadium when the Bears open their 2013 season against Northwestern (August 31), Portland State (September 7) and Ohio State (September 14).

The 6-2 men's basketball team suffered its second loss of the season against UNLV last Sunday afternoon. The Bears are in the midst of a five-game homestand. The next contest, second in the homestand, will take place on Saturday, Dec. 15, at 8 p.m. against Creighton.

The 11th-ranked women's basketball team (7-1) picked up a win over Cal State Bakersfield last Friday. Lyles posted eight points and four rebounds in the contest. The Bears next face Northwestern on Monday, Dec. 17, at 9 a.m. PT in Evanston, Ill.

The Cal Coaches Corner, hosted by Todd McKim, is broadcast each Monday from August through March and includes interviews and features with Golden Bear coaches, student-athletes and alumni from all 29 intercollegiate sports.
