BERKELEY - Basketball coaches Mike Montgomery and Lindsay Gottlieb, who have led both of their teams to at least 20 wins this season, as well as guard Layshia Clarendon and women's rowing coach Dave O'Neill, will be guests on the Cal Coaches Corner Monday. The program airs from 6-7 p.m. on NewsTalk 910 and is broadcast live from the Paragon at the Claremont Hotel, Club and Spa. The Golden Bear women's basketball squad begins a three-game homestand to close out the regular season this week, starting with Thursday's 7 p.m. contest vs. Utah at Haas Pavilion. Colorado then visits Saturday at 2 p.m., followed by Stanford in the season-finale on March 4 at 6 p.m. Cal is now 20-7 overall and alone in second place in the Pac-12 with an 11-4 league mark. Clarendon's performance this season is a big reason for the Bears' success. She leads a balanced scoring attack with 12.5 ppg and is grabbing 4.2 rpg to go with 71 assists and 35 steals. In last weekend's road sweep, she had 27 points at Oregon and another 22 at Oregon State. Cal's men's basketball team remains tied for first in the Pac-12 at 22-6 overall and 12-3 in the league after defeating Oregon and OSU at home. The Bears finish with three straight away from Berkeley - at Utah Thursday, at Colorado Sunday and at Stanford March 4. O'Neill is in his 14th season leading the Cal women's crew program. He has guided the Bears to a pair of NCAA championships, nine national top-four finishes and seven Pac-10 titles. The Cal Coaches Corner, hosted by Todd McKim, is broadcast each Monday from August through March and includes interviews and features with Golden Bear coaches, student-athletes and alumni from all 29 intercollegiate sports.
