2009 CAL TENNIS CAMPS FOR BOYS & GIRLS

The CAL Women's Tennis Program is excited to offer another summer of CAL Tennis Camps. These tennis camps for junior's and High School players are directed by Head Women's Tennis Coach, Amanda Augustus and the CAL Women's Tennis Staff.

Coach Augustus and her knowledgeable staff will offer programs for several ages and ability levels. If you are interested in improving your skills and strategy on the court, this is your opportunity! Whether you're looking for a fun and exciting summer activity or interested in refining and enhancing your tennis game, these camps have it all. Have fun on the courts with the Cal Bears this summer, and experience our commitment to excellence.


Camp is held at Hellman Tennis Center, home to Golden Bear Tennis.

CAL TENNIS CAMPS
Monday-Friday, 9:00am-4:00pm
Morning Session Only Option: 9:00am-12:00pm or Afternoon Session Only Option: 1:00pm-4:00pm

JUNIORS - SESSION I: June 22-26

JUNIORS - SESSION II: June 29-July 3
TOURNAMENT TRAINING CAMP: July 6-10

AGES: 6-18 years old

MATCH PLAY & COMPETITION: August 3-7 (MORNING SESSION ONLY)

AGES: 14-18 years old

PRICE: Full Day Camp: $515; Morning/Afternoon Session Only Option: $275

CAL Tennis Camps offer a variety of tennis camp sessions throughout the summer for boys and girls. Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced players are all welcome. Participants will receive both group and individual instruction to ensure that every camper has a challenging and fun tennis camp experience. The CAL Coaching Staff strives to provide a comprehensive instructional tennis camp program for all ages and abilities.

  • Non-marking tennis shoes (no black soles)

* Racquets will be provided to campers, if needed

Additional Equipment
T-shirts will be distributed to each camp participant on the first day of camp.

COACHING STAFF

Amanda Augustus, Head Coach, Cal Women's Tennis

  • First season, Cal Head Coach
  • As a player at Cal (1996-1999) Augustus was a 4 time All American and 4 time All Pac 10 Athlete.  She was ranked as high as #4 nationally in singles and appeared in the 1998 NCAA Quarterfinals.
  • As a WTA Tour Professional, Augustus was ranked as high as #82 in doubles and #304 in singles in the world.  Her professional career includes wiining 20 professional tournaments and invitations to the main draw at all 4 Grad Slams; Australian Open, French Open, U.S. Open and Wimbledon.
  • Following her playing career and prior to being named Cal's Head Women's Coach, Coach Augustus was the Head Coach at Whittier in 2004-2005, Assistant Coach at Michigan in 2005-2006 and Head Coach at Michigan in 2006-2007

Zsuzsanna Fodor, Assistant Coach, Cal Women's Tennis

  • First season, Cal Assisstant Coach
  • Former Cal Player
  • Two Time All American, and Two Time All Pac-10 as a singles and doubles player
  • Six Time Hungarian National Champion
  • 2006 Pac-10 Singles Champion
  • 2006 Pac-10 Player of the Year
  • Part of 2007 Pac-10 Doubles Team of the Year


Camp staff also includes current and former Cal players, and top college and club coaches from around the region.
