Youth Technique Camp

DATES:
Session 1: Monday, June 17th to Friday, June 21st
Session 2: Monday, July 8th to Friday, July 12th
Session 3: Monday, August 5th to Friday, August 9th

TIME: First Day Check-In: 8:00am at T. Gary Rogers Boathouse
Daily Camp Time: 8:00am to Noon

AGES: Entering High School Freshmen through Seniors

COST: $450 (Day Camp)

LOCATION: T. Gary Rogers Boathouse

Join the Cal Men’s Rowing Coaching Staff for five days of Rowing at the University of California, Berkeley. Our Youth Technique Camps are designed for rower of all skill and experience levels and will cover all facets of the sport. Daily sessions will cover technique, conditioning, strength training, video analysis, racing tactics, and the college recruitment process. Camp is open too rowers interested in trying the sport of rowing or those that have previous experience looking to improve after their novice year.

Elite Racing Camp

DATE: Tuesday, June 25th to Friday, June 28th
TIME: First Day Check-In: June 25th at 12:00pm at T. Gary Rogers Boathouse
Last Day Check-Out: June 28th at 4pm at T. Gary Rogers Boathouse
Camp is all day and only an overnight option is available
AGES: Entering High School Freshmen through Seniors
COST: $850 (Overnight Camp)
LOCATION: T. Gary Rogers Boathouse

Elite Racing Camp will give athletes a sense of what it is like to train and race at an elite division I university while focusing on race pace strategy and technical refinement. This specialized camp is designed for advanced rowers with suggested two season of racing experience. Directed by our internationally acclaimed coaches, experienced high school rowers will get an edge going into the upcoming summer races. This camp will help prepare athletes for US Club Nationals, Canadian Henley, and US Junior Trials. Additionally, the coaching staff will lead a session on the college recruiting process. Coxswains will be given individual feedback and the opportunity to review recordings of their race calls.

Elite High Performance Camp is geared towards experienced rowers with one racing season completed who would like to get a feel for what it is like to row at an elite Division I university. This camp is specifically designed to cover the breadth of the sport of rowing. There will be in depth education and discussion of the rowing stroke, training regimens and racing tactics. Other topics to be covered will include general conditioning, strength training, and video analysis, while also exposing camp athletes to the collegiate recruitment process. Coxswains will be given individual feedback and the opportunity to review recordings of their calls..

TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION

Due to University and NCAA Policies, we are not allowed to offer any transportation to and from camps. The airport closest to the Berkeley campus is Oakland International Airport; San Francisco International Airport is also within a reasonable distance. There are several options that we suggest.

There are a few shuttle services that offer transportation to and from Oakland & San Francisco International Airports. Reservations must be made at least a few days in advance, you can make reservations over the phone or online.
