Eric Mina became only the second player in the history of Cal men's golf to win the Pac-10 individual title when he came back from four shots off the lead Wednesday to capture individual medalist honors at the 2010 Pac-10 Men's Golf Championship. Mina finished the 72-hole tournament at 16-under par after firing a three-under round of 68 on the final 18 holes to defeat third-round leader Jesper Kennegard of Arizona State. "This was the best tournament win of my life," said Mina, who is the first Cal men's golfer to win the Pac-10 since current PGA Tour professional Charlie Wi was victorious in 1995. Mina, who started his round on the 10th hole has twice been at 16-under after birdies on the par-four 15th and par-five 17th holes, but both times gave a stroke back when he bogeyed the par-three 16th and par-four 18th. Kennegard is 16-under par for the tournamment and one-over par on the day. He started his round on the first hole and had bogeys on both the par-four fourth hole and par-three sixth. He got one of the strokes back with a birdie on the par-four ninth and has made par on the other nine holes. Safety Brett Johnson signed with Buffalo, while offensive linemen Chet Teofilo and Mike Tepper both signed with Dallas. Safety Marcus Ezeff has not signed a contract but has a workout scheduled next week with the New York Jets. We expect more news in the upcoming days. With the 2010 NFL Draft now underway and the St. Louis Rams on the clock, let's take a look back at Cal's history in the draft. The Golden Bears have had 23 first-round selections in the school's history and five in the last seven drafts since Jeff Tedford's first season as head coach in 2002. Jahvid Best and Tyson Alualu have both been picked by some experts to be selected in the first round in 2010, but the most recent mock draft by NFL.com experts don't have either currently going in the first round. Alex Mack (2009) is the most recent Cal player to be taken in the first round, while Steve Bartkowski was the highest chosen when he was the first overall pick in 1975. The Bears have had two players taken in the first round three times, accomplishing the feat in back-to-back years in 1996 and 1997, and then again in 2003. Below is a list of Cal's all-time first-round draft picks along with the year they were selected, position, team and overall pick. 1952 - Les Richter - LB (New York Yanks, 2) Tyson Alualu's hometown paper the Honolulu Advertiser has had some great coverage on the former Golden Bear defensive lineman this week. Former Cal men's golfer James Hahn shot a 31 on his final nine holes and a five-under par 66 during first round action of the Peter Tomasulo fired a three-under par 68 during first round action of the Fresh Express Classic at the TPC Stonebrae in Hayward on Thursday.
