Racing with the memory of Jill Costello in the back of its mind, the men's crew and women's rowing squads competed against Stanford, sweeping the Cardinal this past weekend in the Big Row at Redwood Shores.

Fourth-ranked men's crew swept all three races over rival and ninth-ranked Stanford in The Big Row this past Saturday. With the varsity eight win, the Bears retained the Schwabacher Cup for the 21st time in the last 22 years.

Top-ranked women's rowing swept No. 12 Stanford at Redwood Shores over the weekend to successfully defend the Lambert Cup with its varsity eight victory over the Cardinal. It was the third year in a row that Cal has won the Lambert Cup.
