It has been a busy couple of weeks for Cal men's rowing and United States Men's Eight Head Coach Mike Teti.

Right after the Bears' second-place finish in the Pac-12 Championships on May, 13, Teti traveled to Lucerne, Switzerland to guide the U.S. Men's Eight in the Olympic Qualification Regatta. The event ended this Tuesday with the boat qualifying for the games in London this summer. There wasn't much time to celebrate the achievement, however, as Teti boarded a flight yesterday and arrived back in the Bay Area last night.

Just hours after landing, he was back at Briones Reservoir in Orinda to coach Cal's practice as the Bears prepare for the International Rowing Association National Championships in New Jersey next Thursday through Saturday, May 31 - June 2. Teti and the Bears head to the East Coast tomorrow and will train in Princeton, leading up to the IRAs.

We managed to catch up with Teti this morning at Briones Reservoir where he talked about the achievement in Switzerland with the Men's Eight Olympic boat as well as the Golden Bears' preparations for next week's National Championships.
