I visited the California Memorial Stadium construction site this morning. I captured a bunch of photos and some video from inside the facility. Here are the latest updates, followed by the video.
As you can see, field excavation is now complete and they are underway with smoothing out or "grading" the surface. Installation has also begun on the field's drainage system underneath the field. Installation of the new aluminum benches and and hand rails is still in progress.
Work continues inside the brand new expansive press box as the installation of glass windows is nearly complete. In the next week, fans will get a better view of the new press box as scaffolding is scheduled to start being removed.
The restoration of the exterior of Memorial Stadium continues to be unveiled as scaffolding comes down. The temporary trailers that sat at the exterior of the east rim are in the process of being removed, allowing people walking by a great view inside the stadium. The roads outside of the stadium are being resurfaced with fresh pavement as well.
