On the strength of NCAA championships by the men's and women's swimming & diving teams, which were worth 100 points apiece, Cal has shot up to 15th in the current Learfield Sports Directors' Cup standings.

The Bears stood in 36th place at the end of the fall and have moved up 21 places due to the success in the pool, as well as points accumulated from women's indoor track & field (60 points), women's basketball (50 points) and men's basketball (5 points).

With a couple of winter sports, plus the entire spring season, still to go, Cal is right on track for its seventh consecutive top-10 finish.
