Former Cal standout golfer Charlie Wi has made quite the impression in the first round of the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am today. He carded a 9-under 61 on the Monterey Peninsula course to share the lead with Dustin Johnson and Danny Lee. Wi completed the day with pars in each of his last three holes on the day.

Wi, a First Team All-American at Cal, captured the Pac-10 individual championship in 1995 and led the Golden Bears to a sixth-place national finish in their first NCAA finals appearance that season.

Here are several photos of Wi taken during his practice round yesterday, including one with University of Californian Director of Athletics Sandy Barbour. Enjoy and we look forward to an exciting finish on Sunday. You can watch the third and fourth rounds of the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am on CBS this weekend.
