In a wildly-contested game between Cal and Arizona, the Wildcats come out of an exciting first half with a 45-34 lead thanks to a late run.

It was the Bears who were on the attack early as Cal opened a sizable early lead thanks to a 16-3 run. Seniors Jorge Gutierrez and Harper Kamp did most of the damage during the spurt as the Bears surged out the early lead. Gutierrez capped the run with a jumper at the 10:43 mark.

Arizona responded in a big way, finishing the half on a 36-12 run over the final 9:17 of the period. Kyle Fogg led the way for the Wildcats with 13 points, while freshman guard Nick Johnson chipped in nine for UA.

Gutierrez' 10 and Kamp's eight points lead the way for Cal. Robert Thurman has contributed six off the bench for the Bears.

Two minutes left before the second half gets underway. Let's keep our unblemished record at Haas intact with a strong second half.

GO BEARS!
