Work is underway to retrofit and renovate the historic building, bringing it up to modern standards and creating a facility that will significantly reduce seismic risk and ensure life safety for the hundreds of thousands of fans who attend games every year - all while maintaining the architecture and character of the celebrated structure. The long-anticipated project is expected to be completed for the 2012 football season.
You can see in the videos below, the new press box is being assembled on the ground. In the coming weeks, the massive structure will be hoisted into place on the four cement pillars you see constructed on the far end of the stadium.
