Golfers from 16 teams started 54 holes of golf over the next two days at The Alister MacKenzie Invitational on Monday morning. Early results show New Mexico in the lead at five-under par and followed by Cal and Penn State one shot back at four-under. New Mexico's Travis Ross is the early individual leader at five-under par through seven holes, while Cal's Michael Weaver is Cal's top player and one of 11 golfers tied for second three shots at two-under. Weaver is also through seven holes. The eighth annual event is being hosted by Cal at the par-71, 6,708 Meadow Club in Fairfax, Calif. The shotgun start for Monday's first 36 holes of continuous action was at 8:15 a.m. PT. Tee times for Tuesday's final round will begin at 8 a.m. PT and be determined following Monday's play.
