Keenan Allen ran a kickoff back 98 yards for what seemed to be a score. An illegal block in the back sent it back to the 44-yard line, still giving Allen a 61-yard return, the longest kickoff return of the season for the Bears (previous best was 41 by Sofele at USC).

The illegal block in the back penalty was the first flag thrown against Cal in the game.

Cal settled for three points with the possession capped by a 26-yard Tavecchio field goal.
